1.29.2010 | Women's Lacrosse
The Limestone College women’s lacrosse team has pushed back its scrimmages against Presbyterian College and the Savannah College of Art & Design to Sunday, January 31, due to the impending winter storm. The preseason matches were originally scheduled for tomorrow. The Saints will take on SCAD at 1 p.m. and will play Presbyterian at 2:15 p.m.

HIGH POINT, N.C.—The Limestone College women’s lacrosse team was picked No. 1 in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league office on Thursday. The Saints are ranked No. 9 in the 2010 Lacrosse Magazine preseason poll after finishing the 2009 season with a 17-3 overall (11-1 conference) record.

The Limestone College women’s lacrosse team is ranked No. 9 in the preseason NCAA Division II by Lacrosse Magazine. The preseason poll is included in the January issue of the publication. 

1.4.2010 | Women's Lacrosse
The Canadian Lacrosse Association has announced that Limestone College head coach Scott Tucker will serve as an assistant coach for the Under-19 Canadian National Team. Tuckers duties will include coordinating the offense, and assisting with scouting and game planning. Canada will compete at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World U19 Championship in Hannover, Germany, during the summer of 2011.

GAFFNEY, S.C.—Limestone College Head Coach Scott Tucker has announced the women’s lacrosse team’s spring 2010 schedule. Limestone faces a tough lineup with three opponents that were ranked top 10 in the nation last season. The Lady Saints also have a competitive Conference Carolinas slate.

9.3.09 | Women's Lacrosse
Limestone College’s Kelly Oterson (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) and Joan Stroud (Monrovia, Md.) were named to the 2008-09 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Academic Squad, as announced by the IWLCA on Thursday. Student-athletes named to the All-Academic squad had a 3.5 grade point average or higher or were in the top 10 percent of their squad. Honorees also have attained at least a junior standing academically.

HIGH POINT, N.C.—Limestone College’s Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) was chosen as the 2008-09 Conference Carolinas Female Sportsmanship Award winner. Each year, the conference receives nominations from member institutions, and the conference Senior Woman Administrators review the nominees and select one female and one male student-athlete. Anderson University’s Anthony DiCarlo was the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award on the men’s side.

HIGH POINT, N.C.—Limestone College’s Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) was named the Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year, as released by the conference office on Wednesday. This prestigious award is presented annually to a male and female student-athlete in recognition of their outstanding athletic contributions and achievements. The awards are voted on by the league’s athletic directors. Wise is the first athlete from Limestone to be named Athlete of the Year.

5.27.09 | Women's Lacrosse
Limestone’s Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.), Melissa Howard (Ferndale, Md.), and Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.) were named All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association on Wednesday. Wise earned First-Team honors while Howard and Lickert were named Second-Team All-Americans.

Five Limestone College women’s lacrosse players were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-South Region team, as released on Thursday.  Melissa Howard (Ferndale, Md.), Kelly Lickert (Penn Yan, N.Y.), and Lauryn Wise (Pasadena, Md.) garnered First-Team honors. Erin Growney (Rochester, N.Y.) and Katie Ilott (Whitby, Ontario, Canada) represented the Lady Saints on the Second Team.
