RESULTS FROM THE BRAVES CLASSIC

PEMBROKE, N.C.—The Limestone College wrestling team competed in the 29th Annual Braves Classic hosted by the University of North Carolina-Pembroke on Saturday. Limestone had six wrestlers place, which is the most the Saints have ever had at the Braves Classic.
Jeremy Parker (Winchester, Va.) advanced to the championship match of the 141-pound weight class where he lost to Brennan Brumley of Old Dominion, 6-5. Kyle Freiberg (Middlefiled, Ohio) finished fifth at 149 lbs. after a close 9-7 loss to Virginia’s Dave Ebbot.
Mikel Bush (Lakewood, N.Y.) finished second in the 157-pound division after a 17-10 decision against UNC-Greensboro’s Travis Sheehy. Bryce Sopko (Riverview, Mich.) also advanced to the semifinals at 165 lbs. and finished second in the divisio after he was narrowly defeated, 3-2, by Duke’s David Henry. Casey Bradley (Muncie, Ind.) took third at 174 lbs. after he defeated Appalachian State’s John Blakely 6-0. Landon Hall (Lousiville, Tenn.) finished fourth at 184 lbs. He lost to Diego Bencomo of Duke, 8-5, in his final match of the day.
The Saints will compete against Darton College on November 19 in Marietta, Ga., at 7 p.m.
