MEN'S AND WOMEN'S LACROSSE TO SUPPORT WWP

Gaffney, S.C. - The Limestone men's and women’s lacrosse programs, with 14 NCAA tournament appearances between them, recently announced their pledge to support the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). Limestone hopes to help bring continued national exposure to the WWP, as well as to help raise funds through apparel sales, to be directly donated to WWP.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization that provides comfort and aid to the most severely injured service men and women returning from the current military conflicts abroad. The WWP raises awareness and enlists the public's aid to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of severely injured service members. The Project also assists our warriors in receiving those benefits that will allow them to return to civilian life: compensation, education, health care, insurance, housing, employment, etc. Contributions to WWP are tax deductible.
The two programs plan to team up in a joint fundraiser to sell Limestone Saints “Proud Supporter" t-shirts, with the proceeds being donated directly to the WWP.
During the spring of 2009, the men’s lacrosse program was able to sell 160 "Proud Supporter" t-shirts, making a donation to the WWP of nearly $2000. With the additional support of the women’s lacrosse program, Limestone hopes to raise the bar and exceed last year’s numbers.
Saints fans will be able to purchase Limestone Saints apparel, donning the "Proud Supporter" logo, by downloading the order form. Individual donations can be made directly to the Wounded Warrior Project here and WWP apparel can also be purchased here.
