NCAA Conference Carolinas Bluegrass Moutain Conf.

LIMESTONE MEN'S TENNIS BEATS MOUNT OLIVE
GAFFNEY, S.C.— The Limestone College men’s tennis team picked up an 8-1 win against Conference Carolinas-rival Mount Olive on Wednesday afternoon at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center. The Saints climb to 10-5 overall with the win (6-2 conference) as the Trojans stand at 7-13 overall (5-3 conference).
 
Limestone swept the doubles competition. Phillippe Hogan (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) and Thomas Ollivier (Caen, France) won by retirement at the No. 1 flight, as Christian Warnholtz (Queretaro, Mexico) and Henrik Nordquist (Danderyd, Stockholm, Sweden) got the 8-6 win at the No. 2 slot. Paulo Avila (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and Miguel Lopez Zuniga (Guanajuato, Mexico) picked up the 8-4 win at No. 3.
 
The Saints claimed five of the six singles matches, with all of those wins coming in two sets. Ollivier won at No. 1, Hogan got the win at No. 2, while Zuniga had the victory at No. 3. Nordquist won at the No. 4 slot. Warnholtz lost a tough match at No. 5 as he forced his opponent to three sets, while Avila was credited with the win at the No. 6 flight.
 
The Conference Carolinas men’s and women’s tennis tournaments will be held in Sumter, S.C., on April 17-19 and are hosted by Erskine College.
