6 LIMESTONE PLAYERS GARNER ALL-CONFERENCE TENNIS HONORS

SUMTER, S.C.—Six Limestone College tennis players were named All-Conference Carolinas, as announced at the league tournament banquet on Thursday evening. Jimena Munoz Quiroga (La Candelaria, Coyoacan, Mexico), Jen Snaider (Asuncion, Paraguay), and Eve Aubry (Boucherville, Quebec, Canada) represent the Lady Saints, while Thomas Ollivier (Caen, France), Miguel Lopez Zuniga (Guanajuato, Mexico), and Phillippe Hogan (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) represent Limestone on the men’s side.

Quiroga was named to the Second Team after playing at the No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles flights for most of the season. She has an overall singles record of 5-10 for the year, and is 4-4 in the league in singles competition. She also has a 5-3 doubles record in conference play (8-7) overall.

Snaider and Aubry both garnered Third Team honors. Snaider saw action at the No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles flights. She has a 8-7 overall singles record (5-3 league), and is 5-3 in doubles versus conference opponents (6-9 overall). Aubry, who has been Snaider’s doubles partner for most of the year, played at the No. 4 singles position. She has singles record of 6-1 against conference foes, and a 5-2 league doubles record.

Ollivier won First-Team All-Conference honors on the men’s side. He has an overall singles record of 10-3 (5-1 conference) while playing at the No. 1 slot. At the No. 1 doubles seed, he has a 9-3 record and a 3-2 record against conference opponents.

Zuniga was named Second-Team All-Conference. He has a 11-3 singles record (6-1 conference) playing at the No. 3 flight. He also has a 10-5 overall doubles record (6-2 league) at the No. 3 seed.

Hogan, Ollivier’s doubles partner for most of the year, earned Third Team honors. He posts a 6-8 overall singles record (3-4 league) at the No. 2 slot. He also has an impressive 11-3 overall doubles record (6-2 league).

The All-Conference teams were determined by vote from each head coach of participating league institutions. Nominations were collected and then voted upon by ballot and tallied to determine Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, All-Conference First Team, and All-Conference Second Team.

The men’s and women’s tennis tournaments will be held in Sumter, S.C., on April 17-19 and are hosted by Erskine College. The Saints tennis team, who finished third in the conference regular season standings, will open tournament play on Friday when it faces #6 Pfeiffer. The women's tennis team, seeded #5 in the tournament, will face #4 Coker in its opening match on Friday.
