SAINTS TENNIS FALLS IN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

SUMTER, S.C.—The Limestone College men’s tennis team lost to Anderson University, 5-2, in the Conference Carolinas semifinals. The #3-seeded Saints’ record stands at 11-6. Anderson, the #2 seed, advances to play #3 Lees-McRae in the championship match. Limestone will play #5 Barton in the consolation round tomorrow. Tomorrow’s winner will earn third place in the tournament.
The Saints’ No. 3 doubles team of Miguel Lopez Zuniga and Paulo Avila won Limestone’s only doubles match. They defeated Stephan Murray and Benjamin Pepion, 8-5. Zuniga also got Limestone’s only other victory at the No. 3 singles flight with a two-set win over Navaneetha Baskaran (6-2, 6-3).
The Conference Carolinas tennis tournament is hosted by Erskine College.
