Wingate, N.C.----The Limestone College Saints scored three runs in the eighth inning to tie the game at five, then scored a run in the 10th to take a 6-5 win over the Bulldogs of Wingate University in Division II baseball action Tuesday night at Ron Christopher Stadium and Plyler Athletic Field. The Saints improve to 26-21 overall while Wingate falls to 23-27.

Aldo Mendez (Cidra, Puerto Rico) was two-for-four with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Limestone attack. Junior infielder
Drew Lydon (White Plains, Md.) also had a pair of hits and two RBIs for the Saints while senior outfielder
Greg Dailey (Baltimore, Md.) was three-for-five with a triple and two runs scored.
Senior outfielder Mark Letchworth (Greenville, N.C.) was three-for-five with a double, an RBI and a run scored to lead the Bulldogs. Senior infielder Aaron Knowles (Hope Town, Bahamas) had two hits and two RBIs while sophomore designated hitter Heath Weatherford (Rockingham, N.C.) added a solo homer.
Limestone got on the board in the first, as Dailey led off the game with a triple, then scored on a two-run homer from Mendez.
The Bulldogs answered with two runs in the third. Freshman infielder Matt Keeler (Davidson, N.C.) doubled to lead off the inning, then scored on a sacrifice fly from freshman outfielder Casey Allison (Horse Shoe, N.C.). Knowles added an RBI single to tie the game at two.
Wingate took its first lead in the sixth on a solo homer from Weatherford, his ninth of the year to make it 3-2. The Bulldogs added to that lead in the seventh, starting with an RBI double from Letchworth. Knowles followed with another RBI single to give Wingate a 5-2 lead.
The Saints had the answer in the eighth. A two-run triple from Lydon made it 5-4. Junior infielder Seth Austin (Hurdle Mills, N.C.) then delivered with a two-out RBI single to tie the game at five.
Limestone would take the lead in the 10th when sophomore infielder
David Christy (Greenville, S.C.) scored from first on a Bulldog error to make it 6-5.

Brock White (Gaffney, S.C.) got the win for the Saints, pitching the final 2.2 innings allowing only one hit while striking out three to improve to 4-4 on the year. Freshman
Gray Carden (Leesburg, Ga.) took the loss, allowing one unearned run on two hits in two innings while striking out three.
The Bulldogs return to action Thursday, taking on Mars Hill in the first round of the Food Lion SAC Tournament which will be hosted by Wingate University at Ron Christopher Stadium. The game will start at 7:30 p.m., with the winner of that game playing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night, and the loser playing at 3:45 p.m. Friday.
