LIMESTONE TENNIS FALLS AT USC-AIKEN
AIKEN, S.C.— The Limestone College tennis teams both lost to USC-Aiken by the score of 9-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Saints fall to 7-6 overall as the Pacers improve to 9-7 overall. The No. 31 Saint men fall to 8-4 overall as No. 10 USC-Aiken climb to 13-3.
 
On the women’s side, USC-Aiken took five of the six singles matches in two sets, and won all the doubles flights by at least four points. Limestone’s Eve Aubry (Boucherville, Quebec, Canada) forced Brittany Telford to three sets as Aubry won the first set 6-1, but dropped the next two sets 3-6 and 8-10.
 
For the men, the Saints' Thomas Ollivier (Caen, France) fought a three-set match at the No. 1 flight. Despite losing the first set 6-2, Ollivier fought back and won the second set 6-4. However, his opponent, No. 6 Bruno Seves, won the next bout 6-4.
 
Limestone also put up a fight at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles flights. Christian Warnholtz (Overetaro, Mexico) and Henrik Nordquist (Danderyl, Sweden) were edged 9-8 at the No.2 slot, while Paulo Avila (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and Miguel Lopez Zuniga (Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico) were also edged 9-8 at the No. 3 flight.
 
Limestone travels to play Pfeiffer University on April 11 at 12 p.m. in Misenheimer, N.C.
