CARPENTER NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK

HIGH POINT, N.C.— Limestone College’s Madison Carpenter (Anderson, S.C.) was named Conference Carolinas Softball Pitcher of the Week, as released by the league office on Tuesday. Carpenter turned out three wins and two saves last week for Limestone.
Carpenter posted a .91 ERA for the week to go along with 13 strikeouts. She pitched 6 2/3 innings in game one versus Lander on April 3 and allowed no earned runs on five hits in the Saints' 2-1 victory. She struck-out a week-high five batters in game two against the Bearcats as she only allowed three hits in 4 2/3 inning of work.
Carpenter picked up the saves in Limestone’s sweep against Pfeiffer on Saturday. She gave up one hit in game one and no earned runs as the Saints won 7-5. She went three innings in game two, scattered two hits and allowed no runs in the 3-1 victory. She picked up her third win of the week in game two against Brevard on Sunday. Carpenter pitched the complete game (seven innings) as she allowed eight hits, one earned run, and struck out three.
