Bookmark and Share
GAFFNEY, S.C.—Limestone College Head Coach Scott Tucker has announced the women’s lacrosse team’s spring 2010 schedule. Limestone faces a tough lineup with three opponents that were ranked top 10 in the nation last season. The Lady Saints also have a competitive Conference Carolinas slate.

Limestone, ranked No. 4 in last season’s IWLCA/Under Armour final poll, opens the season on February 17 against conference-rival Queens University.

Three nationally ranked squads will make the trip to Gaffney in the spring. The Lady Saints host No. 8 Gannon on February 28. Limestone will be looking to avenge last season’s 13-12 NCAA semifinal loss against No. 3 Lock Haven when the Eagles come to town on March 14. No. 8 Dowling will also visit Gaffney on March 28.

The Lady Saints will also play a competitive conference schedule. Limestone will take on Belmont Abbey on March 24 at Saints Field. Last season, the Crusaders were the only team to defeat the Lady Saints during the regular season. Limestone will also host Lees-McRae, Converse, and St. Andrews during the spring.

The 2010 Conference Carolinas tournament will be hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, N.C., on April 24-25. Next, the Lady Saints will face solid opponent in Rollins College when they host the Tars on May 1. Last season Rollins’ program, only in its second year of existence, posted a 12-3 record.

The first round of the NCAA tournament will be played on campus sites on May 15. The semifinals and championship game of the tournament will be held on May 22-23 in Gettysburg, Pa.
