LEBANON, Tenn.—The Saints wrestling team won two matches at the Cumberland Duals on Friday. The Saints lost to McKendree University, but defeated Cumberland University and Marion Military Institute. Limestone now boasts a 10-2 duals record.
In Limestone’s 23-17 loss against McKendree University, Matt Hall (Hamptonville, N.C.) recorded a technical fall in the 125-pound weight class with a 16-0 victory. Mike Magaha (Seaford, Del.) and Theran Goodale (Osage, Iowa) recorded decisions in the 133-pound. and 149-pound divisions, while Mikel Bush (Lakewood, N.Y.) recorded a major decision in the 157-pound weight class as he won 10-2.
The Saints dominated in their match against Marion Military Institute as they won 27-7. Matt Hall recorded a 15-6 major decision, while Magaha, Goodale, Nick Shappee (Bluffton, S.C./184 lbs.), and Tarek Alaruri (Ann Arbor, Mich./285 lbs.) defeated their opponents by pinning them. Bush and Zach McKeone (Marietta, Ga./174 lbs.), and Michael Walsh (Port St. Lucie, Fla./197 lbs.) recorded decisions.
Limestone defeated Cumberland 25-8. Magaha, Jeremy Parker (Winchester, Va./141 lbs.), Goodale, Bryce Sopko (Brighton, Mich./165lbs.), Casey Bradley (Muncie, Ind./174 lbs.), Shappee, and Alaruri beat their opponents by decisions.
