Originally constructed in 1976, the Timken Center has been a staple on campus ever since. Currently the Timken center has a capacity of 1,500 with a bleacher section for general admission and student seating along with a reserved seating area with padded seats on the opposite side.
Directions to The Timken Center
From Charlotte, N.C. and Points North
Travel south on I-85 and take Exit 90 (Gaffney). Turn left on SC-105/Hyatt Street for approximately three and one-half miles. Make right hand turn onto S. Limestone St, then turn left at the light onto E. O'Neal St. Continue straight onto the University Campus. The Timken Center will be the first brick building on the right as you drive onto campus.
From Charleston and Points South
Head west on I-26. Merge onto I-85 North, taking Exit 90 (Gaffney). Turn left on SC-105/Hyatt Street for approximately three and one-half miles. Make right hand turn onto S. Limestone St, then turn left at the light onto E. O'Neal St. Continue straight onto the University Campus. The Timken Center will be the first brick building on the right as you drive onto campus.
From Myrtle Beach and Points East
Take US-501, eventually merging onto SC-576, US-76 West, State Road S-21-24, SC-327 and I-95. Take Exit 160B, merging onto 1-20 West toward Columbia. Get off at Exit 64B (Spartanburg) and merge onto I-26 West. Take Exit 18B onto I-85 North and get off at Exit 90 (Gaffney).Merge onto SC-105/Hyatt Street for approximately three and one-half miles. From Knoxville, Tenn. and Points West
Merge ont I-40 East via the ramp to Asheville. Continue onto US-74 East and eventually merge onto I-26 East. Take Exit 18B onto I-85 North and get off at Exit 90 (Gaffney).Merge onto SC-105/Hyatt Street for approximately three and one-half miles. Make right hand turn onto S.
