Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Announces Promotion and New Hires

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Michael Cerino, has announced a promotion and two additions to the athletic staff at Limestone University.

Jason Jones has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Athletic Academic Success. He is in his fourth overall year at Limestone and has held the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

In his role as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Athletic Academic Success, Jones will lead the department's efforts in NCAA and South Atlantic rules and eligibility compliance with the added emphasis placed on helping all Limestone University student-athletes matriculate and graduate with an excellent education.

"I appreciate the time and effort that Vice President Mike Cerino and Deputy Athletic Director Dennis Bloomer have dedicated to my career and success in the area of compliance and am extremely excited to continue serving the student-athletes in this new capacity within the athletic department."

Josie Rollins has been hired as the Assistant to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and Compliance Coordinator. Josie comes to Limestone University from Charleston Southern University where she served as the Athletic Certification Officer. Her duties included obtaining, evaluating and documenting academic credentials to comply with NCAA (Bylaw 14) and Big South academic eligibility rules. Rollins also had a primary focus on NCAA Bylaws 12(Amateurism, 13 (Recruiting), and 17 (Playing and Practice Seasons. Prior to Charleston Southern, Rollins served as an Athletic Compliance Graduate Assistant at Anderson University where she also completed a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership.

Rollins's primary role within the Limestone athletic department will be to provide direct support to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics by managing and coordinating schedules, meetings, correspondence, and calendars. Furthermore, Rollins is in charge of all technical aspects concerning virtual and in-person meetings. She will also lend her compliance expertise as another point of contact for the Compliance Office and work closely with Associate Athletic Director Jason Jones.

Dr. Michael Harmon, DSL, has been hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Broadcasting. Michael comes to Limestone University from Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Virginia. While at Southern Virginia University, Harmon held various positions, Women's Basketball and Volleyball Coach, Associate Professor, Associate Athletic Director, Department Chair, and Faculty Athletic Representative.

Dr. Harmon's role within the athletic department will focus on highlighting the athletes, coaches, and university through the use of traditional technology (website maintenance) and integrating new streaming and broadcasting capabilities.

I look forward to helping the student-athletes, the coaches and the university continue to gain conference and national recognition."
