MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Limestone University competitive cheer team was impressive in their first competition of the year, placing second overall in the Small Coed Advanced Division at Cheer LTD Nationals with a total score of 92.76 on Saturday, March 19, at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
The Saints finished second behind Gannon University and ahead of Winona State University in the Small Coed Advanced Division following a score of 9.90 in jumps and a 9.70 in tosses. The Blue and Gold was assigned a 5 in difficulty and a 4.90 in technique in the jumps – the highest scoring category of the day.

Summer Krimminger (Lancaster, S.C.), and freshman
Alyson Petty (Gaffney, S.C.) each helped the Saints put up a combined score of 4.80 for technique in the tosses category.
"I am really proud of the team and their fight this weekend," said head coach
Chad Butler. "There were a lot of things in the routine that were fantastic and a lot of things that we can still work on. I'm excited to get back to work and fine tune what we need heading into Nationals."
Limestone will compete at NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla. on April 6 through April 9.
