Limestone University Cheer Team Places 2nd, Dance Team Places 3rd at 2023 NCA & NDA Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla- The Limestone University competitive cheer team earned a 2nd-place finish, the best in program history, and the Limestone University dance team placed 3rd, equaling a program-best, during the 2023 NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance National Championships on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8.

CHEER
The Limestone University competitive cheer team claimed 2nd-place in the NCA Advanced Small Coed Division II National Championship on Friday afternoon, the highest placement in program history. The Saints tallied an event score of 91.9306 points during the finals performance and recorded the highest raw score of the day, securing 85.0667 of 90 possible points. Hawaii Pacific University took home 1st-place with an event score of 92.7037 points in the finals.

Head coach Chad Butler: "I'm so incredibly proud of this amazing group of athletes! They set a new standard for Limestone Cheer with the highest placement in program history. This trophy will be a tangible reminder of our hard work, but will also serve as motivation for our athletes as we push for a national title. Thank you to the athletic administration for their continued support for our program."

DANCE
The Limestone University dance team placed 3rd in the 2023 NDA Hip-Hop Division-II National Championship on Saturday, April 8, equalling a program-best finish. The Saints registered an 88.9714 point performance during the finals, boasting a raw score of 62.28 points out of 70, with zero deductions. Champion Lindenwood University and runner-up Valdosta State University recorded scores of 93.8286 points and 93.3143 points, respectively. 

Head coach Keasha Currence: "Wow, what a season!! LUDT worked so hard and pushed through every adversity that was thrown at them. They prevailed and their hard work paid off! We are so thankful for our family and friends for traveling to support us and so many at home watching and cheering us on! This program's foundation is "family" and it will always be! This is the second time in program history to place Top-3 and the highest raw score in school's history. This is what it's all about: making meaningful memories, reaching goals and holding each other accountable!"
