Gaffney, SC – Limestone football suffered their first loss in the conference on Saturday, falling 38-12 to the Wingate Bulldogs. This loss ends the Saints' four-game winning streak against South Atlantic Conference matchups. With the loss, Limestone drops to 4-1 (2-1 SAC), while Wingate improves to (5-2, 4-1 SAC).
STORY OF THE GAME:
- The first quarter went scoreless for both teams.
- The Bulldogs were able to score 17 in the second quarter with touchdowns being caught by Jaedyn Fulton, Evan McCray, and Caleb Bonesteel hitting a 40-yard field goal.
- Wingate would go on to score twice more in the third quarter with McCray grabbing another and O'Brien Barnett scoring on a 21-yard run.
- The Saints' first score came at the end of the third with DJ Black grabbing a 74-yard touchdown from Dustin Noller.
- DJ Black was hit on a 39-yard pass for a touchdown to start the 4th to chip away at the lead.
- Ethan Wallace scored for the Bulldogs extending their lead to 38-12.
