Gaffney, SC- Coming off a win over regionally ranked Newberry, Limestone took another point in conference play with a draw, and also regionally ranked visiting Carson-Newman.
Carson-Newman was on the front foot in the first half, taking 7 of the game's first 8 shots, but Limestone Goalkeeper Rosemary Elliott was there to save 4 of them, to keep the game scoreless at the half.
Fans saw a different picture at the beginning of the second half, with Limestone being the aggressor, having consecutive corners and the first dangerous opportunity for Servane Blouin. The efforts paid off in the 54th minute as Lucia Hidalgo was fouled in the Box after receiving a through ball from Anae Malbete. The Freshman then converted on her own Penalty Kick into the top right corner.
Carson-Newman responded quickly however, with Selina Jud finding the bottom left corner on a counterattack only 3 minutes later. For the rest of the second half, both teams acted more on the cautious side with the teams only taking one more shot each in the final 30 minutes.
