Football Downed by West Alabama

The Saints fall to West Alabama on the road 33-14.

Livingston, AL. –  The Limestone University football team (1-1) fell to the home team West Alabama (3-0), 33-14.
 
To start the game Limestone got on the board first with a 28 yard field goal by Daniel Deneen Jr. putting the Saints up 3-0. West Alabama responded at the end of the 1st quarter with a touchdown by their defense after they recovered a fumble giving the Tigers the lead 7-3. 
 
West Alabama capitalized once again and took a 10-3 lead when Elijah Guyton hit a 23-yard field goal to put the Tigers ahead. The Tigers went on the attack again as they had Spencer Arceneaux hit Houston Johnson with a 32-yard touchdown pass putting West Alabama up 17-3.

Deneen helped the Saints keep it close in the first half with a impressive 47-yard field goal closing the gap 17-6.
 
In the third quarter the Tigers built on their lead as Guyton hit a 29-yard field goal as the score was now 20-6. Guyton came back out at the start of the fourth quarter to hit a 40-yard field goal as they extended their lead. West Alabama's defense preformed on all cylinders as Issac Williams scored a touchdown after grabbing a interception and putting the tigers ahead 29-6. Guyton converted the extra point as the score was now 30-6. Limestone found the end zone in the fourth quarter with Dustin Noller who connected with Tre Williams as the score was now 30-12. The Saints went on to attempt the 2-point conversion and were successful with Kevin Lalin driving it in as the score was now 30-14. Guyton finished off the game with a 19-yard field goal making the final score 33-14. 
 
On the ground,Kevin Lalin turned in another fine performance as the running back eclipsed 116 yards on 20 attempts. Jalen Jones completed the night with 181 yards on 9 recieptions. Tre Williams wrapped up his night with 51 yards and the only touchdown for the Saints. Dustin Noller threw for 302 yard as he finished the night going 20/34.

The Saints open the SAC slate next weekend and hit the road on Saturday (Sept. 21) for a battle with Anderson That contest with the Trojans is set for a 1:00 p.m.
