Boxscore Salisbury, N.C- The Limestone University Men's Soccer team came home from Salisbury, N.C. with a 7-0 victory over the Catawba Indians on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints wasted no time to get on with the scoreboard, as Junior Defender Johan Morel headed home a corner taken by Stefan Roeb in the 10th minute for his first goal of his Limestone career. Straight off the next Kickoff the Saints won the ball back and sent Mark Radoki behind Catawba's line, who could only help themselves by tackling the Graduate Striker in the box. Claudel Ngoubou calmly converted the resulting Penalty Kick (11.).
It was also Ngoubou, who combined together with Kaiss Mansouri and Roeb, to set up Radoki on the back post to make it 3-0 in the 22nd minute. 8 minutes later another combination on the Right Side by Freshman Marcelo Lopes and Roeb assisted Geraldo Lopes, who made it 4-0 before the half.
The Saints were on the back foot to start the second half, conceding 2 shots in the first two minutes, but a timely long shot goal (48.) by Sophomore Transfer Abdoulaye Toure made it 5-0 and took the fire out of the game.
Shunsuke Nakamoto (60.) and Ngoubou (65.) scored to final the score at 7-0. Ngoubou assisted Nakamoto's goal and Freshman Lucas Atria picked up his first scorer point of his career as he assisted Ngoubou's 7-0.
Limestone saw out the game after surviving some more opportunities from Catawba Late. Coach Ali Al-Gashamy used the chance and debuted multiple Saints players for their first minutes for the Blue and Gold.
