GAFFNEY, S.C. –Limestone University's acrobatics and tumbling team kicked off their season with a resounding victory over Newberry and Belmont Abbey. The Saints demonstrated their dominance across all events, finishing with a total score of 265.145, well ahead of Belmont Abbey's 238.665 and Newberry's 84.550.
First Half Highlights:
- Limestone set the tone early with a strong performance in the Compulsory events, scoring 38.15 out of a possible 40 points. Their acro, pyramid, toss, and tumbling heats were nearly flawless, giving them a significant lead.
- In the Acro events, Limestone continued to shine, particularly in the 5 Element and 7 Element heats, where they scored 9.8 and 9.7 respectively.
Second Half Highlights:
- The Saints maintained their momentum in the Pyramid events, achieving near-perfect scores in the Inversion, Synchronized, and Open heats.
- Limestone's Toss and Tumbling performances were equally impressive, with standout scores in the 450 Salto and Aerial Pass heats.
- The team event capped off the meet, with Limestone scoring 87.52 points, securing their overall victory.
