Gaffney, S.C. – The Limestone University men's tennis team secured a decisive 5-2 victory against North Greenville University on February 17, 2025, at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center. This win marks Limestone's first victory of the season, bringing their record to 1-1, while North Greenville falls to 1-2.
In the singles competition, Limestone's Obrad Marovski set the tone with a commanding 6-4, 6-0 win over Juho Kantola. Despite a hard-fought match, Ramiro Rincon fell to North Greenville's Christo Timini in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Rodolfo Villavicenci clinched a thrilling victory against Gabriel Pegoraro, winning 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 10-6. Andre Zamorano and Barthelemy Bourdon also contributed to Limestone's success with straight-set wins over their opponents.
In doubles play, the duo of Andre Zamorano and Andres Cortez defeated Christo Timini and Juan Jose Arbelaez 6-4, while Ramiro Rincon and Giovane Calou dominated their match, winning 6-1 against Gabriel Pegoraro and Dean Kingsley. The match between Marovski/Villavicenci and Kantola/Hernandez was left unfinished.
