Limestone Suffers First Loss of the Season in Hard-Fought Battle Against Quinnipiac

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone University Acrobatics & Tumbling team experienced their first defeat of the season in a closely contested meet against Quinnipiac University on March 12, 2025. The match, held at Limestone's home venue, saw an attendance of 384 spectators.

Despite a strong start, Limestone (6-1) fell short with a final score of 264.010 to Quinnipiac's 267.585. The meet was a testament to the competitive spirit of both teams, with Quinnipiac (4-0) maintaining their undefeated record.

The scoring by halves reflected the intensity of the competition. Limestone led after the first half with a score of 94.65 to Quinnipiac's 94.15. However, Quinnipiac surged ahead in the second half, scoring 173.435 to Limestone's 165.410.

The event breakdown showcased the strengths and challenges faced by both teams. In the compulsory events, Limestone excelled with a total score of 36.90, while Quinnipiac scored 36.90 as well. The acro heats saw Quinnipiac slightly ahead with 29.80 compared to Limestone's 28.15. The pyramid heats were another close contest, with Quinnipiac scoring 30.00 and Limestone 30.00.

In the toss heats, Quinnipiac's precision earned them a score of 29.80, while Limestone managed 28.70. The tumbling heats were particularly competitive, with Quinnipiac scoring 56.05 and Limestone 52.475. The team event scores were 91.76 for Quinnipiac and 85.56 for Limestone.

The Saints will look to bounce back in their next meet as they continue their pursuit of excellence in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) season.
