Greeneville, Tenn. – In a thrilling South Atlantic Conference (SAC) matchup, Limestone University (10-11, 5-5 SAC) pulled off a stunning 13-10 victory over Tusculum University (5-14, 1-6 SAC) on March 7, 2025, at Pioneer Park. The Saints showcased their resilience by overcoming a four-run deficit in the ninth inning to secure the win.
The game began with Tusculum taking an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning. Limestone responded in the second inning with a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Hughesman, bringing home Sion Barnett. Tusculum extended their lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the second, but Limestone's Adams Faucett capitalized on a fielding error in the third inning to narrow the gap.
Limestone tied the game at 4-4 in the fourth inning, thanks to another Tusculum error and a single by Faucett. Tusculum briefly regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth, but Limestone continued to fight back, tying the game again in the sixth inning with a single by Zach Greenberg.
The eighth inning saw Tusculum explode for six runs, highlighted by a grand slam from Avery Collins, giving them a 10-6 lead. However, Limestone was not done yet. In the top of the ninth, the Saints mounted an incredible comeback. Faucett's two-RBI single and a wild pitch brought the score to 10-9. Then, with the bases loaded, Cole Kirschner delivered a game-winning grand slam, sealing the 13-10 victory for Limestone.
Colby Humphries (2-1) earned the win for Limestone, while Ben Catrambone recorded his first save of the season. Noah Vickers (0-2) took the loss for Tusculum.
