Due West, S.C. – In an impressive display of skill and determination, Limestone University (18-18) emerged victorious against Erskine (16-19) with a final score of 12-3 at Grier Field on April 1, 2025. The game, which captivated 124 attendees, showcased Limestone's offensive prowess and solid defense.
Limestone's scoring began in the second inning with Winston Parke's sacrifice fly, driving in Sion Barnette. Corey Hodierne followed with a single to left center, bringing home Tyler Hughesman. The third inning saw Hughesman again contributing with an RBI single, scoring Barnette.
Erskine's only significant response came in the fourth inning when J. Yaccarino hit a two-run homer, scoring Q. Allen. However, Limestone quickly regained control in the fifth inning with Barnette's two-run homer, extending their lead to 5-2.
The sixth inning was a turning point for Limestone, as they scored seven runs, including RBIs from Zach Greenberg, Barnette, Hughesman, Peter Adams, and Hodierne. Despite Erskine's efforts, Limestone's defense held strong, allowing only one more run in the ninth inning.
Evan Soeffker (1-1) earned the win for Limestone, pitching five innings and allowing only two runs. Notable performances included Barnette's three RBIs and Hodierne's three hits. Erskine's N. Fraginals (1-1) took the loss.
