Sumter, S.C. - The Limestone University men's tennis team faced a challenging match against Catawba, resulting in a tough loss that concluded their postseason journey.
Doubles Action:Â In the doubles matches, Limestone University struggled to secure victories. On court one, the pair of Rodolfo Villavicencio and Obrad Markovski from Limestone University were defeated 6-1 by Agustin Mastri and Luca Bergonzi of Catawba College. The No. 2 doubles match saw a close contest, with Thomas Kostka and Marcos Castares of Catawba College edging out Andres Cortes and Andre Zamorano 7-6 (7-5). On court three, Mateo Berne and Sebastian Zabala of Catawba College triumphed 6-1 over Ramiro Rincon and Giovane Calou.
Singles Play:Â The singles matches continued to be fiercely competitive. On court one, Agustin Mastri of Catawba College defeated Obrad Markovski in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. Thomas Kostka of Catawba College secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Andre Zamorano. Luca Bergonzi of Catawba College won his match against Come De Lorgeril 6-2, 6-3.
Three singles matches were left unfinished. Rodolfo Villavicencio was trailing 6-3, 3-3 against Mateo Berne on court three. Ryosuke Inagawa was behind 6-4, 2-2 against Ramiro Rincon on court five. Marcos Castares and Barthelemy Bourdon had split sets 6-1, 1-5 before their match was halted.
Despite the final score, the Limestone University team displayed determination and resilience throughout the match.
