Softball Drops both Games at Emory & Henry

Emory, Va. – The Limestone University Softball team hit the road for a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader against Emory & Henry on April 2, 2025. Despite a solid offensive showing in both contests, the Saints fell in both games, unable to slow down the Wasps' bats.

Game 1 – Emory & Henry 10, Limestone 5

Limestone jumped out to an early lead but couldn't hold off a powerful offensive surge from Emory & Henry, falling 10-5 in the opener.

The Saints scored three runs in the second inning and added insurance in the fourth and seventh, led by a big day from Faith Callaway, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.

Emma King added an RBI double, while Tayler Jenkins had two hits, an RBI, and a stolen base.

However, the Wasps used four home runs, including a pair from their cleanup hitter, to power their way to 10 runs on eight hits.

Despite collecting eight hits, Limestone couldn't overcome the power and efficiency of Emory & Henry's lineup.

Game 2 – Emory & Henry 6, Limestone 4

In Game 2, Limestone outhit Emory & Henry 12 to 10, but timely hitting from the Wasps and two home runs proved the difference in a 6-4 loss.

The Saints tied the game in the fourth inning with a two-RBI single by Emma Wrenn, and took a brief lead in the seventh when Olivia Veidt delivered her third hit of the game to drive in a run.

However, Emory & Henry responded with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh, handing Limestone its second loss of the day.

Limestone played clean defense with no errors, but couldn't hold on in the final frame.
