Limestone University Baseball Triumphs Over UVA-Wise in Series Opener

Gaffney, S.C.– Limestone University baseball team showcased their resilience and determination in the opening game of their series against UVA-Wise, securing a 4-1 victory at Founders FCU Stadium on April 25, 2025.

The game started off slow, with neither team able to score in the first four innings. UVA-Wise broke the deadlock in the fifth inning when D. Dickson singled down the right field line, driving in J. Weaver and advancing J. Hurst to third. This gave UVA-Wise a 1-0 lead.

Limestone responded in the seventh inning, capitalizing on a passed ball that allowed E. Bonocore to score, tying the game at 1-1. Shortly after, B. Partridge delivered a clutch single to right center, bringing home C. Hodierne and W. Parke, and giving Limestone a 3-1 lead.

In the eighth inning, A. Faucett sealed the victory for Limestone with a solo home run, extending the lead to 4-1. Evan Soeffker earned the win in relief, pitching three scoreless innings and striking out three.

Limestone's offense was led by Ethan Bonocore, who went 3-for-3, and Ben Partridge, who contributed two RBIs. The Saints' defense was solid, committing only one error and turning a crucial double play.
