Gaffney, S.C. – The Limestone University Softball team hosted Lenoir-Rhyne for a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader on April 5, 2025, at Jimmy Martin Field. Despite offensive efforts in both games, the Saints were overpowered by the Bears' explosive bats and dropped both contests.
Game 1 – Lenoir-Rhyne 9, Limestone 4
Lenoir-Rhyne struck early and often in the opening game, putting up runs in the first three innings to grab a commanding lead that Limestone couldn't overcome.
The Saints scored four runs on 11 hits, including a two-run home run by Emma Wrenn and an RBI double by Madilyn Gerovac. Emma King and Ragan Bristol each collected multiple hits as Limestone attempted to claw back into the game, but the deficit was too large.
Turgeon was solid in relief, shutting down Lenoir-Rhyne over the final four innings, but the early damage was too much to recover from.
Game 2 – Lenoir-Rhyne 13, Limestone 8 (8 Innings)
Game 2 was a slugfest that saw both teams trade big innings before Lenoir-Rhyne pulled away in extras.
The Saints put together a five-run fourth inning, highlighted by a three-run triple from Emma King, who finished with four RBIs in the game. Ragan Bristol, S. Page, and Madilyn Gerovac each added run-scoring hits as Limestone pushed the game to extras tied 7-7.
However, the Bears erupted for six runs in the top of the eighth to secure the series sweep.
Limestone collected 11 hits and scored in four separate innings but couldn't hold off Lenoir-Rhyne's late rally.
Despite a valiant offensive effort, Limestone's pitching staff struggled to contain a red-hot Lenoir-Rhyne lineup that launched five home runs over the two games.
