About the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee


The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to strive to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting student-athlete opportunities, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

The SAAC is a leadership organization that provides a link of communication between Limestone University student-athletes and the athletic department administration on relevant issues pertaining to student-athlete well-being. Additionally, SAAC organizes events to network, serve, and develop with each other, the Limestone University campus, and the Gaffney community. SAAC also discusses and provides feedback to the South Atlantic Conference and the NCAA Division II SAAC on important issues that directly affect the student-athlete experience on a conference and national level.

SAAC is made up of one voting representative from each of the athletic teams selected by their respective coaches. Any student-athlete is welcome to attend SAAC meetings and get involved, even if he/she is not a voting representative.

Mission Statement
The mission of Limestone University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to:
  1. Promote the student-athlete welfare to enhance the student-athlete experience.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships between: student-atheltes, the University, the Athletic Department, the NCAA, and the Community.

Purpose Statement
The purpose of SAAC is to:
  1. Promote communication between student-athletes and the athletic department.
  2. Let student-athletes' express ideas and voice concerns regarding NCAA legislation.
  3. Increase social responsibility through community events.
  4. Serve as a representative body for student-athletes' concerns regarding student-athlete welfare
