About the Compliance Office
Limestone University takes pride in the opportunities and activities offered to its students. The intercollegiate athletics program strives to maintain the appropriate balance between its endeavors and academic pursuits and has become an integral part of the educational environment of the University.
The athletics program, however, will not be permitted to rival or detract from the University's primary mission--that of providing a sound and viable education in the liberal arts and sciences. The athletics program is complementary and supplementary to the basic academic program of the institution.
The athletics personnel are viewed as educators who contribute to the student athlete's total educational experience. In addition to protecting and enhancing the physical and emotional welfare of the student athlete and enhancing the athletic skills, the athletics personnel are expected to teach/demonstrate sportsmanship, honesty, integrity, ethical behavior and pride.
All students who participate in intercollegiate athletics at Limestone University are required to comply fully with all policies which apply to all students in admissions, curriculum, degree requirements, class attendance, personal conduct and other matters.
All athletic contests, practices and related activities will be conducted in compliance with the principles of fair play and amateur athletic competition, as defined by Limestone University, the NCAA and the South Atlantic Conference. All rules of those organizations will be strictly observed.
