Caroline H. Lang

Caroline Lang was named Head Coach at Limestone University in October 2022, where she began her journey in the NCAA. The Saints found themselves in the SAC tournament for the 2023 season and just missed the SAC tournament for the 2024 season, finishing 9th. Caroline holds a record with Limestone of 48-43 as she moves into her third season with the Saints.
Before Limestone, Lang was the head coach at Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC) from May 2019 to October 2022. During her time with the Pioneers, she coached nine 2nd Team All-Region, thirteen 1st Team All-Region, and two Pitcher of the Year. Her record with the Pioneers was 56-62 overall and 23-8 in Conference play. In Lang’s last spring (2022), the Lady Pioneers finished 26-25 overall and 11-1 in region play. They went on to win the Region 10 tournament and compete at District for a chance at going to Nationals. SMC faced Snead State and fell short but put up a strong fight by playing all 3 games in the series. Academically, the Pioneers did exceptionally well in the classroom under Lang with an average GPA of 3.4. Thirteen players were named for NJCAA Academic All-American. Lang was named Coach of the Year in 2022. While being the head coach, Caroline received her master’s in athletic coaching from Columbia College and graduated in December 2022. 
Caroline was a student-athlete at SMC, where she started her college softball career (2013-2015). She was a Student Ambassador and received her Associate of Science degree. She then transferred to Limestone (2015-2017), where she played softball and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a coaching minor.
After graduating from Limestone, Lang took a Graduate Assistant job at Converse University from the Fall of 2017 to Spring of 2018. Caroline went back to Tyger River after leaving Converse and became a full-time maintenance tech while being the assistant coach at SMC. Through the 2019 season, Lang was named interim head coach.
In her time as a collegiate student-athlete at SMC and Limestone, she played in 201 games of her career and finished with impressive marks of a .421 batting average, 267 hits, 164 runs, 65 doubles, 10 triples, 39 home runs, 197 RBIs, and .741 slugging percentage. 
While at SMC, Lang played in 96 games with a career batting average of .447, 307 plate visits with 137 hits, and put up 103 RBI’s and 84 runs. She hit 20 home runs in her two years, and her slugging percentage in her sophomore year was .941. The 2014 team received a bid to Nationals in St. George, Utah, where they finished 8th out of 16 teams.  
While at Limestone, in 105 games, Lang had a .397 batting average along with 19 home runs, 94 RBIs, 130 hits, 31 doubles, 35 BB, and only 20 strikeouts. Lang helped her 2016 Limestone team win the Regular Season for Conference Carolina. In 2017, Limestone was regionally ranked in the top 8, so they received a bid to compete in Regionals at North Georgia.

Caroline Lang graduated from Chapman High in 2013. She is a native of Spartanburg County and recently married Joshua Lang (2017 Limestone Alum) on November 2, 2024. They currently lives in Cowpens, SC, with their two dogs.
