Connor Baroniunas joined the Limestone University coaching staff as the Assistant Offensive Line Coach, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a dedication to both athletic and academic excellence.
Connor's academic journey began at Wingate University in Wingate, NC, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2020 and a Master’s in Business Administration in 2022. His strong academic performance is reflected in his undergraduate GPA of 3.42. Prior to this, Connor graduated from Middle Creek High School in Apex, NC, in 2016.
Before joining Limestone, Connor honed his coaching skills at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, where he served as the Offensive Line Coach and Equipment Room Manager. His responsibilities included coordinating daily operations for the offensive line, preparing the scout team defense, assisting the Offensive Coordinator, recruiting and evaluating potential players, and overseeing academic success for student-athletes. Connor's efforts contributed to Lake Forest College's achievement as 2022 MWC Co-Champions with a 9-1 record.
Connor's coaching career also includes valuable experience as a Football Graduate Assistant at Wingate University from 2020 to 2022. In this role, he assisted the primary OL coach, managed practice and game film, recruited players, and provided technological support. His time at Wingate University further solidified his expertise in coaching and player development.
As a former athlete, Connor played as a right guard for Wingate University's Division II football team from 2016 to 2019. He was a four-year starter, playing approximately 2200 snaps and allowing only 2 sacks during his college career. His leadership and skill on the field earned him numerous accolades, including 2nd Team All-Conference as a sophomore, 1st Team All-Conference as a senior, and the title of 2019 Scholar Athlete of the Year. Connor also served as team captain during his junior and senior years and contributed to the team's 2017 SAC Championship.
Beyond his coaching and athletic achievements, Connor is passionate about community service. He has been actively involved in events celebrating special Olympians' athletic abilities, coaching and supporting them through various drills.
